I'm still here!

life's been pretty slow these days o I havent blogged much plus I've been really busy at home and work this last week or so. but I promise to blog soon about.....scorpion, maggots?, Lucas' first hair cut, his upcoming party and more!!! stay tuned!!

Hair cut

So...being a first time mom of an 11 mo old I have yet to delve into the world of kids hair cuts. I have debated when to get it done and I have decided now is the time. So I started looking into locations and prices. I surely though no one would charge more than $5 -$10 for a kids cut.....and I wasnt really even willing to pay $10!!! $5 I can do. I mean he's 11 mo old for Pete's sake!!! it'll take 5 mins to cut his little head of hair. Now, I know that kids can be difficult, so maybe that's why these places charge so much. They have those neat little chairs shaped like firetrucks and stuff and I'm sure they employ all kids of tactics to get the kid to be still. I can only assume since I've never stepped foot in one. Bottom line....I REFUSE to pay $16.99 to get Lucas' hair cut. Where do you  moms go? And what do you pay?

My mom suggested a guy whose daughter I went to HS with. It's a long story ab how we know him and where his "salon" is but he's only going to charge me $5-7!!! Now THAT'S more like it!!

So, I'm getting his haircut tomorrow! I'll have to take the camera to memorialize the event!!! And to share w/ my readers of course! :)

and so it begins.....

I'm not sure it's official or not that Lucas is walking but he's well on his way!! He's taking 6-8 steps at a time a few times during the day but still relies on crawling for his main mode of trasportation :) I dont know when it becomes "official" but I'm sure it'll be soon. teeth

In the last 2 months Lucas has gotten in 6 teeth. 3 in the month of August and 3 so far have emerged this month. So thats all 8 baby teeth. Only 3 or 4 are all the way in...the rest are still breaking through; but they are all through the gums now. Amazingly, Lucas has been great through it all. Every now and then he'll chew on his fingers more often or will be a little fussy but that's a bout it. Oh, and sometimes he's fussy at night but nothing crazy. And this mama is glad b/c I've heard some horror stories ab teething. he also has had a little runny nose from it before but again, nothing major.

I took these pics the other week before the 3 teeth this month emerged. But you can see them under the gums. These most recent 3 are just under the skin onthe top, on his left side. These were all so cute I had to share them all :)

football season is here!!

I'm actually not a big football fan in general but when it come to Georgia Tech football I'm all ab it! Since Eric graduated from there we're big fans. This year is our third for being season ticket holders and we just love the whole experience. Yesterday was the first GT home game of the season and we had a blast!! We got downtown at 8 am (we were LATE!) and tailgated until the game at 1. Unlike most games, we also tailgated after the game for a bit. We didnt leave downtown until 7 pm....so 11 hours of tailgating fun! Yeah, baby! I know that sound like a long time but it went fast and we had fun, which is all that matters really.

Does anyone know what this message means???? IT comes on EVERY time I turn my computer on...but it comes up as a minimized tab, so I have to maximize it to read what it says....so strange... The tab is titled "microsoft windows":
